Ingredients

  • ½ cup molasses

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add molasses to the butter mixture; mix well. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are firm but centers are still soft. Cool on wire racks before frosting.
  7. For the Lemon Buttercream, beat together powdered sugar and softened butter until smooth; gradually add heavy cream and lemon zest.
