Description
Delicious Mardi Gras-themed cookie treats adorned with colorful candy melts and sprinkles, perfect for festivities.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Green Candy Melts (Can substitute with white chocolate or other colored melts if desired.)
- 12 pieces Nutter Butter Cookies (Other cookies like vanilla wafers can be used but will alter the flavor profile.)
- 1 cup Candy Eye Sprinkles (Can substitute with chocolate chips or small round candies.)
- 5 pieces White Heart Sprinkles (Small marshmallows or mini M&Ms could be an alternative.)
- 1 cup Crown Sprinkles (You can skip these or use colored sugar if unavailable.)
Instructions
- Begin by placing your green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave at 50% power for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Once your candy melts are ready, take a Nutter Butter cookie and quickly dip it into the melted green coating. Ensure the cookie is fully submerged and evenly coated.
- After dipping, carefully place each coated cookie onto a sheet of parchment paper. Allow the dipped Mardi Gras Alligators to sit for about 10-15 minutes, or until the green candy coating has completely hardened.
- While the coating is still slightly warm and tacky, grab your candy eye sprinkles and place two on each cookie. Add five white heart sprinkles and then top off with a crown sprinkle.
- Allow the decorated cookies to sit undisturbed for an additional 20-30 minutes to ensure that the candy coating is completely dry and secure.
Notes
- These cookies are great for any celebration, especially Mardi Gras.
- Experiment with different colors of candy melts for various occasions.
