- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Green food coloring
- Red, white, and gold sugar pearls
- Edible glitter (optional)
- Holly leaf icing decorations or fondant
Instructions
- Prepare the Cupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the Frosting: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and heavy cream, beating until the frosting is light and fluffy.
- Add green food coloring until you reach the desired shade, mixing well.
- Decorate the Cupcakes: Using a star tip, pipe the green frosting onto the cooled cupcakes in a circular pattern to resemble a wreath.
- Decorate with red, white, and gold sugar pearls to mimic berries.
- If available, use holly leaf icing decorations or shape holly leaves from green fondant and add to the wreaths.
- Sprinkle edible glitter for an extra festive touch.
Notes
- Ensure all ingredients, especially the butter, are at room temperature for smoother mixing.
- Sifting the powdered sugar before adding it to the frosting helps achieve a lump-free texture.
- Adjust the consistency of the frosting with extra cream or powdered sugar as needed.
- Experiment with other edible decorations, like small candies or edible flowers, for a personalized touch.
