Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Make the Cupcake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Bake the Cupcakes: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Prepare the Frosting: Divide the buttercream frosting in half. Tint one half with green food coloring until the desired shade is achieved.
- Decorate the Cupcakes: Using a piping bag fitted with a medium star tip, pipe the white buttercream around the edge of each cupcake. With a clean piping bag and a closed star tip, pipe the green frosting in the shape of a Christmas tree on top of each cupcake. Decorate the “trees” with gold sugar pearls and top with an edible white star.
- Finishing Touch: Lightly dust the cupcakes with powdered sugar to create a snow-like effect.
