Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
- Prepare Batter: Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fill Cupcake Liners: Evenly divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake: Bake in preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely before frosting.
- Prepare Frosting: Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition. Add milk and vanilla extract, then beat until smooth and fluffy. Add blue food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
- Frost Cupcakes: Use a piping bag with a star tip to frost the cooled cupcakes in a swirl pattern.
- Decorate: Place snowflake fondant decorations on top of the frosting. Add edible silver pearls and white sprinkles for a wintery effect.
