Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it stand for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Add eggs, sugar, melted butter, red food coloring, and yeast mixture to the flour mixture. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on the sides. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
