Description

A delicious brunch or breakfast casserole made with brioche, ham, and Swiss cheese.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups cubed brioche or challah bread
  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk or half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Butter for greasing dish
  • Powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer half the bread, ham, and cheese in the dish.
  3. Repeat with remaining bread, ham, and cheese.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour mixture evenly over casserole.
  6. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes or overnight.
  7. Bake covered at 350°F until set.
  8. Uncover and bake until golden.
  9. Rest, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk.
