Description

A delightful holiday treat featuring chocolate-dipped cookies, perfect for Christmas celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted (for dipping)
  • Christmas-themed sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually blend in the flour mixture, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Shape and Bake Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Chocolate Dipping: Once the cookies are cooled, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Dip half of each cookie into the melted chocolate and place them on wax paper.
  8. Decorate: Immediately sprinkle the dipped cookies with Christmas-themed sprinkles before the chocolate sets.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is fully softened for easy mixing and smooth dough.
  • For added flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of almond extract to the dough.
  • If the dough becomes too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before baking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
