Description

Delicious homemade banana bread made with ripe bananas and browned butter.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (browned)
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and fragrant; set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth yet chunky.
  4. Combine the mashed bananas with browned butter, both sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract; whisk until creamy.
  5. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing.
