Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy brownies that are easy to make and will satisfy your chocolate cravings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (olive oil or coconut oil)
  • 1 1/8 cup superfine sugar (caster sugar or white granulated sugar)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175° C | 350° F.
  2. Grease your 8-inch square baking pan using a cooking oil spray, and then line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, and oil for about a minute.
  4. Add the vanilla and eggs, and beat together for another minute until the mixture is lighter in color.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gently fold them into the mixture until well combined. Avoid over-beating to maintain the fudgy texture.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and smooth the top. Optionally, top with chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. The brownies are done when the center doesn’t jiggle, as they will continue to bake in the hot pan.
  8. Let the brownies cool in the pan for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra texture, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips on top before baking.
